In few days, the American people will be going to poll to elect a new president that will preside over the nation and govern the affair of the nation. Going into this election, many things has been happening between the contestants and one thing is that we cannot afford to close our eyes as if we are not concern about what is going on because “when America sneezes the whole world catches cold”. We need to pray for the will of God for there is no power but of God; the power that ordained by God. (Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God- Rom 13:1). We also know that the government of this world is upon His shoulder, infact in His teaching on model of prayer He taught us that we should pray “Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven, Matt. 6:10. For His Kingdom to come here on earth, the person that He has ordained must rule and that is why I encourage us to pray the prayer points below for He is the one that answers prayers Psalm 65:2. He said “If the people that are call by my name shall humble themselves and pray,
Prayer Points
1. Pray for the mercy and compassion of God upon USA. Rom. 9:14-16; Lam. 3:22
2. Pray for the righteousness of God to return to USA. Prov.14:34
3. Pray for the salvation of each candidate and their household.
4. Pray that the Holy Spirit with touch each candidate to know and remember that it is not by his/her might, power, ability, or fundraising that he/she will be victorious and successful in leadership. Zech.4:6
5. Pray that each candidate would focus on the issues that is facing the nation and not on personal attacks on other candidates. 1 Tim. 1:6
6. Pray that each candidate families will be protected from harm and unnecessary scrutiny and that God will surround them with Godly advisors. Psalms 91:1 Psalm 1:1-6
7. Commit the election process to God’s hand to take control. Pray for safe and fair election Psalm 127:1; Prov.16:1
8. Pray that God will frustrate every device of the crafty concerning the election, so that they will not be able to perform their plans. Job 5:12.
9. Pray for a huge turnout of voters to vote freely. Hos.4:6b
10. Pray for protection from any attacks from enemies that would prevent or delay the election. Deut.3:22
11. Pray for strong hedge of protection around the USA during this time of decision. Deut. 31:6
12. Pray that the news media will broadcast the truth. John 8:32
13. Thank Him for the answered prayers. Eph. 3:20-21
